handicap reduced from a disqualified card

Posted by: user283178 | Mon 1st Nov 2010 08:59 | Last Reply

If a player is disqualified from a comp. is his card automatically invalidated or can his card still be used to reduce that players handicap mark?

or is it dependant on why the player was disqualified?

From my experience at my club even though the player may be disqualified his card may be used. See section 17.1(c) of the UHS.

I agree with Martin.

In the past I came across a guy who 'planned' his Hcp. He once once shot a Nett 64 (SSS 66) and when he heard that it would not win, refused to sign his card wanting to be DQ'd. He was shocked when he was pulled.

entering scores onto a computer is not a rule of golf, so technically he had done nothing wrong .As long as he has completed his card in the correct manner and posted it into whatever box they have for this
