Wayne you are spot on, Lee pretty much said that in an interview and also said he would have preferred to have had a week where he was playing golf to make the no.1 spot rather than just by the system.

Sure he is chuffed to bits and we would be all happy to take it any which way we could!

Very harsh lee Westwood has easily been best player this year, even though he hasn't won a major. And if it wasn't for he's injury he would have got there a lot sooner and would have been a strong favourite for the USPGA.Why is it that when a British sportsman reaches the top of his sport there are always people who want to knock them down.As for Tiger he has been the greatest golfer there has ever been and i hated the way the press hounded him, christ he had sex behind he's wife's back,it happens a thousand times every week by both men and women in all walks of life,I'm sure hes wife isn't too upset, shes too busy counting the bucks. CONGRATULATIONS  LEE......!!!!

It seems strange that when Mickleson had a chance to move to No1 he fluffed it, just as Kaymer did last week. At least Lee couldn't fluff it looking for Rubber Gloves in Sainsbury's. That is unless he got the wrong ones!

Well done Lee, Worksop is back in Yorkshire.

Westwood is without doubt my favourite player on the tour but to go up in the rankings without playing cannot be right.

The ranking system needs  overhauling.

Apparently he's already had photo done holding a new trophy in honour of being the best in the world - check out page 2 of:
