How Does Golf Shake Handle Junior Accounts?

Posted by: user125585 | Mon 18th Oct 2010 22:24 | Last Reply

My son was 14 nearly a year ago, his club handicap immediately dropped form 30 to 28 and he is now treated in the same way as other Members.

His current Golf Shake Handicap is currently 28.5 and he has lost interest in uploading scores to the site because "it doesn;t work properly".

Is there any way that the site can be altered to adjust Junior Boys - reaching 14 to then be treated the same as the rest of the Men, but understand that any cards posted as a junior would not affect the handicap as it has a fixed point of change on their 14th Birthday. So if handicap is ever recalulated it works corrctly.

Hi graham, I may be misunderstanding but can he not just change his gender status from the settings tab to 'male'  this would then allow max 28 ?

Regards, Darren.

OK so I suppose if he does that then recalculates form his 14th Birthday it will automatically adjust to 28 on his Birthday and then recalculate based on the scores entered?

Yes that should work.

The handicap recalculation allows you to set a date to start from, so as you say change the gender and then run through this process.

Any probs let me know.

Just to add this does seem to have worked.

I guess with minimal (maybe?) Junior members then automating this is not worth the effort.
