Favourite Ryder Cup chants or Should they be banned ?

Posted by: user8 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Mon 4th Oct 2010 08:43 | Last Reply

Made a great atmosphere sitting in the 1st tee grandstand on Saturday but is chanting/songs unacceptable at a Golf event ?  Made a unique and electric atmosphere which I had never felt at a golf event and had hairs stand up when the players walked on to the tees with the roars.  Could not possibly imagine what today would be like!

My fav's got to be:

You've got Big Mac, We've got GMac

or

There is only 2 Molinari's, There is only 2 Molinari's

Another one this morning which made me chuckle.

To Stuart Cink - 'we've got more hair than you, we've got more hair than you!'

I thought " where's ur Major gone ,where's ur Major gone" to Dusbin Johnson was  a bit harsh but funny even funnier as he's against Kaymer!

Must admit I chuckled when I heard someone start up 'Foggy, foggy, foggy - Oi, oi, oi'

I think all the banter was done light hearted & all the players responded well.

As far as I know nobody had to be escorted off the course for abuse etc unlike what happened in the US a few years back

Best one I heard was to Jim Furyk when the fog was starting to delay play a little bit and before he was due to tee off someone called "Follow your nose Jim"
