Can you recommend a specialist putting DVD or book
I'm finding a level of consistancy with my other clubs, and I'm ok working on this area - but my putting is leaking around 6 to 8 shots a round I believe (at my current ability).
I will get a couple of lessons but I cannot afford ti have a series of lesson dedicated to putting only ....I'd like to be able to but I cannot - also I guess a putting specialist pro would be worth his weight in gold and would be expensive
So can any of you recommend a good in depth putting book/DVD.....I can handle books on a more technical angle. I am very bad at reading greens and finding the feel for speed.
By the time next season comes around I'd like to have a good plan on how to take my putting game to the course ...I believe this will help me the most to get close to single figures by this time next year.........maybe I'm expecting too much but I think this area of my game needs real attention
cheers guys.....and gals

Are you struggling with distance or direction? Or are you struggling with both?
For distance try using some markers when putting.
The short putts I only move my putter head back until the back of the putter head is level with the big toe on my right foot (RH player).
For the six to twelve feet ones I let the putter head go back until the face of the putter is level with my big toe on my right foot. This might only seem a small difference from the short putt one, but I always accelerate through the ball.
The long putts are the difficult one. This is where touch and feel comes into it. You have to work out the distance the backswing needs to be.
Once you are happy with the distance and can leave your ball either in the cup or very near to it then your putting stats should come down.
I use the 'line on the ball' for my direction. I am absolutely certain that it helps my putting.
Hope these help your putting.
I'll leave it at that as my wife is standing behind me demanding to get onto the computer!!!!

Lewis,
I am afraid that to be a goodgreat Putter you need "Feel" and that can't be taught. You can read and digest information about the 'Art of Putting' but at the end of the day it is down to your own feel for strength and where you aim.
I am a firm believer that you can aquire a good technique, but it is of no use if you can't judge distance and pace and that can change from day to day.
You will learn that Putting is the most inconsistent part of a game, one day you will hole everything inside 6ft but on another you can't.
