GS Open, Are You Going?

Posted by: user20126 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Fri 3rd Sep 2010 20:51 | Last Reply

Is anybody going to the GolfShake Open on the Friday and staying overnight?

It's a three hour journey for me and with a 9:30 tee off it's a bit too much for me to drive then play.

Looking at the hotel onsite and their website wants £59 for the night, and this doesn't include a breakfast.  I looked on another website and they had places for £45 for the night at the same place!

There is a Travelodge about three miles away but they want £49 for the night.

So are you going up on the Friday?

I won't be up there early enough to play any golf.

Probably looking at staying in the Travelodge, unless I can get a good deal at the course itself.

I'm going across with the family Friday night Russ and will be staying at the premier inn near the footie ground in Crewe, couldn't get the £29 a night deal but i think its about £49.

Cheers Stu

Stu, I've been on the website and the cheapest they are offering at the moment is £54, room only!

The golf course are advertising £59 for a room, but you do get to use the gym and spa.  Looked on a few late booking websites and I think they could do the same for £49.

If I can't find somebody to share with I might have to either bite the bullet and stay at the club, or somewhere nearby.

They didn't have a family room available for Fri & Sat which i was wanting to stay so thats why i chose the premier.

I'll see you there Saturday.

I've found a place that is five miles from the course.

Cost is £39 for a twin room with a breakfast.

If anybody wants to share with me let me know.

I haven't booked it yet.

I'm staying at the Travelodge in Crewe and I got that for £34.50. I booked that on the 15/8 so not sure if any more available.

I'm booked in at the Quality Hotel, which is near the railway station.

So it's not going to be quality and the trains will keep me awake all night!!!!

Still looking for somebody to share with me, PM me if you are interested.

Russ
