Who wins

Posted by: user333074 | Wed 25th Aug 2010 22:30 | Last Reply

Hi folks, Long time reader, first time poster.  I am a social golfer, playing every Wednesday night, and most Sunday mornings, with a regular group of mates, at our local municiple course. We are not members of any club, therefore, don't have official handicaps, however, using basic CONGU rules, we have calculated unofficial ones, which we use when playing against each other. My question is..... What happens in the case of a tie ? My thoughts were the best back 9 wins, then best last 6, then 3, then 1, but others think it might be front 9. I know this is all very unofficial, but we like to try and keep to the rules.

Paul,

You are correct on the countback rules.  And can I just say playing for lottery tickets is a cracking idea

Paul,

If you can get a Rule Book, or visit a Web Page that lists them, Section 11 of Appendix 1 lists all the 'RECOMMENDED WAYS' the R&A list. Stroke Play with Hcp allowence is Back 9 - 6 - 3 and the Hcp allowence is 1/2, 1/3 & 1/6.

Hope this helps.
