ENGLAND v USA - Ryder Cup

Posted by: user318851 | Tue 20th Jul 2010 12:11 | Last Reply

Lee Westwood - Justin Rose - Ian Poulter - Paul Casey - Brian Davis - Ross Fisher - Simon Dyson - Luke Donald

I have just read Sean Harrison's Editors letter in SWING IMAGE, regarding English players in the Ryder Cup team....

Mentioning the above players, Sean is talking about how lucky Monty is to have so many English players coming on strong - with 4 of them in the top 10 in the OWR. Do you think we could end up with half the team made up from English players.

1. What is the most amount of English players ever in a Ryder Cup team?????

2. What would be the result if we had to find (12 v 12) Eng v USA. Would it be close?

Back in the day it used to be UK versus the USA but it was opened up to Europe because we were getting a good ol' beating at the hands of the US.  I'm a patriotic chap but believe we are better served in this event as Europe!

To answer one of your questions Gary.

The 1933 Ryder Cup side was an all English Team.
