is it wrong?

been told by lots of people now to try before i buy. But id rather buy second hand if i can. so is it wrong for me to go to say american golf to try some knowing that im not going to buy from there? if it is ok how do i go about it?

Matt,

Lots of people try without thinking of buying there and then. Take say a driver - they will try a couple, then go back later and try them again and eventually decide which is best "for them" then go on-line and get it cheaper.

Happens all the time mate - don't worry just do it - just say "I am thinking of getting some new irons and want to try out a few sets first"

I always have done that, they don't mind.  The trick is to go in when they're quiet and just chat to them then tell them you'll be back to buy them after you've dropped the kids/wife/dog off.
