Pin locations
Not sure if this has been discussed previously, but when playing golf courses I have no idea on pin locations. Would it be a good idea for the greenkeeper to have a sheet of paper with all 18 greens on it and when he cuts a new hole to locate it on the piece of paper then photocopied. These can then be available when paying your green fee.
Just a thought.

So how about plotting the pin locations on said bit of paper before going out to the course. Like, "here you are jack, these are todays pin locations, away you go", In the meantime the proshop has already photocopied it and they are available for maybe 50 pence a sheet. Can't be that difficult Christopher.
Also, roughly how often are the pin locations changed?

It seems to be the in thing these days to trick a golf course up by building severely sloping greens and then placing the holes on the slopes themselves.
The problem Chris, with the ball fading away at the hole with a dead weight putt is because the greenkeeper is lazy and does not use a board to keep the earth flat when pulling out the cutter.
Myself I have never needed all these aids, as I have used and trusted my eyesight, even down to yardage. I never look at the yardage of a hole as that is the way I have always played. Even the Pro's, who meticulously pace out the yardage, select a club, can still hit it over the green or comew up short. The game is all about feel, no matter what club you are hitting. Just my opinion.
