Handicap calculation

Posted by: user308882 | Mon 7th Jun 2010 13:51 | Last Reply

Hi,

I just entered my 3 score cards which gave me a handicap of 25 - this I can understand how it was worked out and agree.

However, my next scorecard was a 75 (discounting 1 stroke for a hole to bring back down to +2) and then removing handicap a 50.  The course par/sss is 65 so this should surely mean I get cut by 15*0.4 (=6) and therefore handicap should be a flat 19. However it is showing as 19.4? IS this correct?

Maybe it is myself working out incorrectly but just wondered! :-)

Thanks,

Brian

Without working it out for myself I would say that your handicap category has been reduced so you would have only recieved a 0.3 reduction for some of the calculations.

Just been on the CONGU website and the handicap categories are:

1Plus to 5.4Plus to 525.5 to 12.46 to 12312.5 to 20.413 to 20420.5 to 28.0
[20.5 to 28.4]21 to 28

A golfer who is in category 4 has his handicap reduced by 0.4

When you move down to category 3 your handicap is reduced by 0.3, and so on

Also the buffer zone reduces with the category.

Hope this helps

Russ
