This place is far too quiet....
So here goes.........................................
Slow play is good for the soul. It teaches people to be patient and allows golfers to get in touch with their inner squirrel.
It should be compulsary to use an electric trolley and if you are behind 6 groups of senior lady golfers (as I was on Thursday) simply take along a book to read or some knitting or something else to pass the time in between shots.

You can walk and play as slow as you like, but you must not spend time doing nothing.

You have hit the nail on the head there, Ray. Unfortunately, the antics of the pros on the TV have instilled 'their approach to the game' in the modern day amateur and social player to the detriment of the game as I once knew it.

Ray,
You need to get your priorities right. Golf, kids, work, pub, wife.
Tha way you'll always have at least 5 hours to do put up with the slow players etc.

Work pays for the pub, well and everything else on the list actually so it has to figure pretty high.!!!

We played in our monthly medal today & our 3rd playing partner dropped out so we had to go out as a 2 ball with 3 balls in front & behind.
We were expecting a long round with it begin a medal so we were able to 'take in the scenery' but saying that we still only took 3hrs 40mins!
