hitting iron shots

Posted by: user270701 | Sun 16th May 2010 23:41 | Last Reply

I am struggling to hit my irons, I either slice it halfway to hell or the ball ends up 20ft in front of me. I just cant seem to hit an iron at all. Its mostly 4 - 7 thats causing problems. My 8 and 9 can hit sometimes and PW i am not to bad with more than not. Any help on where i can get info or help would be great. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I would recommend lessons before bad habbits get ingrained - that way you'll know what you're doing wrong and with time you'll be able to adjust even from one shot to the next!

If your Avatar is a photo of you swinging, Andrew, then it shows exactly why you are topping the ball as you are falling back at impact. For an iron shot to be successful the ball is struck a descending blow before the bottom of your swinging arc.
