Hi, I take it when you say add names you mean other users ?
This is done throught the user admin section, you can only add users to a society that are registered members of golfscoretracker. From the user admin section you can search for users and add them, remove users and also accept any direct requests to your group.
Let me know if you require further help or if I have misunderstood.
Darren.

basically i am an administrar for a group of friends ( ie keep scores and try to work out handicaps etc.) I thought i could use your web site to help me to keep better track of scores and provide individual handicaps. Is this facility available or not?

Hi again. Hopefully you've seen my e-mail in response to this. Have thought about this some more and someone else asked a similar question.
I guess you want to do the following :
Add yourself to the site Add your friends to the site Add your golf rounds played Add your friends golf rounds to the site Monitor yours and your friends handicap
Therefore, you basically want to be able to have your own account and administer your friends accounts (adding rounds etc) all from your login ?
The site is set-up to allow this in prinicipal but this kind of feature is not yet live, may look at sorting over the next month. To do what you are after currently you would need to create accounts for each person, then create a society and add them to it, then every time you play golf either login to their accounts to add rounds or create society competitions that only you can add rounds for. This way you could add the multiple rounds from one account. Then from the society section you could view the member report which would list stats etc
Hope this all makes sense ? Let me know if you want me to set anything up for you and get going using the society feature.
Regards,
Darren.

Hi Darren. Thanks for that. Does sound a long winded way of doing it. However if you do set a programme ( as intimated in your last e-mail) enabling me do what i want from one place i would be interested to hear further. Perhaps you could arrange to let me know when you set it up. Cheers.

I agree it is long winded at present.
I initially created the site 5 years ago to learn programming and to create a facility to help my golf game. Since then I have continued to develop the site in my spare time and last year gave the site a complete re-design in terms of look and feel and also the way the site runs progam wise with loads of new features. I've continued to add new features when suggested by other users and where I feel the site can improve. Hopefully the site is now one of the most feature packed golf sites on the internet and also still free, although I did introduce a Premium account upgrade for 5 per year which gives access to graphical reporting and some other advanced tracking features, this was done to hopefully recoup some costs. The sites now got over 3000+ users with over 1000+ registering in the last 6 months.
Where possible I've continued to add features when suggested by users and am committed to doing this for the future. The site originally started small but as it's grown so have the features that are available and the requests from users ! :-)
The suggestion you have made is a good one and someone else had already suggested something similar, this is something definately worth adding and something I will work on very soon.
Thanks for the feedback. I hope you continue to use the site for yourself for the time being.
Regards,
Darren.
