I need handicap help! Quickly, please!

I'm new to the site and the hole handicapping business, but I joined here and entered a few scorecards and calculated my handicap and it came back with a 71? Am I doing something wrong?  Based on my coach's analysis I'm roughly an 8.0 handicap... Can anyone help me out?  I need the certificate to play in Spain.

The Hcp system here is based on SSS and not Slope & Rating as in the US. That is the problem, but I see your Hcp changed from 71 to 7.5. Have you sorted it out?

Adam, your american handicap certificate is valid anywhere in the world and perhaps I ought to inform you that handicap certificates are not often asked for in Spain these days, as money is paramount.

Adam, you are a good player and good players never have a problem getting on a golf course. I am quite sure that you will not be asked for one anyway.

Which courses are you planning on playing in Spain as there are many members on here who could give you information about them.
