Electric trolleys - where to start??

Posted by: user40367 | Wed 11th Apr 2007 13:03 | Last Reply

Can anyone please recommend a decent electric trolley and why in their opinion?

I have Googled with mixed reviews/luck - from the highly priced Powakaddy models (min £280+) to mid-range Motocaddy (£250ish) to cheap/budget ones (£100-200) - cannot think what to do given the advancement in technology these days (I know things like weak axels breaking, speed dial/motor malfunction, etc can occur but would have thought these are associated with older models). Even considering modern makes like Gokart but with no unbiased, qualitative and objective comparison availble I am turning to forums like this for opinions.

Features I think (happy to be advised otherwise) to look for are: weight load trolley can support, battery (Ah) and Motor (W) power ie higher the better, recharge time, folded dimensions for ease of storage, battery/parts warranty period, value for money (cheapest doesn't equate to best in my opinion esp as I regularly play in a hilly course which would demand a lot from the trolley). Brandname/image is of NO importance to me.

And therefore, the model according to the survey is???? Heck I am even pretending to start my own business to request information from Chinese suppliers - that's how disillusioned I am. Help!

Thanks

I bit the bullet 12 months ago & got myself the Powakaddy Sport with a 36 hole battery. I got it from a reputable golf shop on ebay & paid about £260 in total. I've had no problems at all & it gets used twiced a week
