Round with a pro, how much £££?

Posted by: user276830 | Thu 15th Apr 2010 18:44 | Last Reply

After reading this post I got to thinking (again) about getting a round with a pro to get some pointers and a lesson in course management.

Given that my local 18 hole course is usually about £30 a round, how much should expect the pay a pro for their valuable time?

Given James experience, how useful can this be?

Have any of you golfshakers had good/bad experiences with this?

Also (I live in NI) any golfshakers know any local contacts in this regard?

Most places offer "playing lessons" though these will only last a few holes. I would guess that they would charge their normal hourly rate for however long you are out on the course for.

I had a 'Playing lesson' with the pro from my golf club.

He charged his normal rate and we played two holes, but we played four balls on each hole.

It was a good lesson as he was saying things about course management that had never occurred to me.

Lessons taken on the practice ground are good for your swing but taking it to the course is a different matter, so it was good to have a playing lesson.

I have seen other clubs have adverts for playing lessons for nine holes or eighteen holes.  These were expensive.
