Injury concerns
Hi all,
I was rearended at a roundabout while stationary yesterday and apart from the annoyance of my month old BMW getting smashed up and the rigmerole to go with it, I had a Good Friday fourball with my mates planned followed by a pool and sauna session.
I got twisted round to the left slightly on impact and while my left shoulder and area under my shoulder blade feel like they've been worked over by Lennox Lewis, I feel 100% better than I thought I would going on what everybody said to expect. I've done a couple of surreptitious practice swings and it doesn't feel too bad.
We have a big tournament day coming up in mid-May and while I will be gutted if I miss Friday, the sensible part of me is saying "your not playing well anyway, this is a good excuse to take two weeks off, recover, recalibrate and get on the range and course in May before the big day".
I've got no sympathy from my mates who see it as an elaborate ruse to avoid coming last and I really would like to play. My wife thinks I'm being an idiot even considering playing but it's a thinker.
What would you guys do (or have done if you've been in a similar situation?)

Well I'm DIYing this weekend so no excuses from me.
Guy, I'd hold back for a week and see how it goes. Tearing anything around your shoulder can be a nightmare if you rush back to quick.

I think it would be odds on that you would aggravate a tear playing so soon after the injury - why not miss Fridays game and have a "fitness test" at the ranges next weekend.
Use the week wisely like getting your wife to rub ointment into the shoulder and sueing the defendant for personal injuries.
You might miss out on Fridays game but think of those sparkling new clubs the compensation could buy..
