TM Burner ball alternative?

Posted by: user224024 | Thu 15th Oct 2009 17:48 | Last Reply

I currently use the TaylorMade Burner Golf Balls, £17/dozen, because I was advized that it has a 60 compression but is hard off the tee.  Well I have to agree with the advise I was given; it's hard and long off the tee and soft and bites on the green.  It's a great ball and half the price of a Pro V1/X.

But, can anyone please recommend a cheaper ball with 60 compression that does exactly the same thing?

Wilson Staff Dx2 Soft.  50 compression., £27 for 2 dozen from American Golf, but you can get 3 dozen for £30 if you have a mooch online.  My ball of choice.

The problem is that there is no standard for compression values between manufacturers, and it's more complicated than saying that a 50 is 83% softer than a 60.  It's a suck it and see process unfortunately.
