Posing A Question

Posted by: user20126 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Thu 15th Oct 2009 13:28 | Last Reply

I was talking to a bloke at work the other night and we got talking about handicaps.

He said to me that if a person had a handicap of 9.9, so therefore in a competition he would have to play off 10.  Would that person be classed as a golfer with a single figure golfer?

My answer was yes he would, due to the fact that his exact handicap is 9.9

He on the other hand said that until the person has reduced his handicap to a stage where he plays off 9 in competitions that he's not a single figure golfer.

Only light-hearted, but it would be interesting to see what other people think.

I would say that it would they would not be single figure as they are closer to 10 than 9.

not that it will bother me for the forseeable future as i just keep on going the wrong way with my handicap.
