Golf ball worth considering

Posted by: user268382 | Thu 15th Oct 2009 10:33 | Last Reply

Have recently been buying and using the new Dunlop Quadra Link golf ball.  This is available from Sports Direct found in many retail parks, shopping centres etc.

While this retailer is often seen as being 'cheap and cheerful' I think this new ball is well worth trying.

I play off 8 handicap and would normally use either a ProV1 or Srixon ball.  However having found a Quadra on the course it played particularly well.  Longer than either the Titleist or Srixon - both good length balls - it also has a good 'feel'.  I know this is very subjective, however having played golf for over 40 years and used nearly all branded balls at one time or other, would suggest well worth giving it a try.

Since they retail at £8.99 for 2 dozen - under 40p a ball - you can't really go wrong. They are very white, standing out on the course, but can scuff a bit after a round or two.

Let me know your own experience.

I agree entirely Colin. I too like Srixon, above pro v's, but I couldn't tell the difference when I found one of these quadra balls.

Ive just started using Pinnacle FX Long, they do what they say, and this is go a long way!  Made by Acushnet (titleist!!) £3.20 for a box of 15 off the bay! Bargain.  Fair enough they are not as nice off the face as Srixon Z star but it doesn't hurt when you lose one!!

iv'e been a fan of dunlop loco's but can't seem to get them now so switched to the quadra. i think these have replaced the loco, slightly more expensive but hey you can't complain at £8 99. i find that they land and then keep rowling forever, a big advantage to me as i'm not a big hitter, just have to take more care with the short game
