Pro V1 vs Pro V1x

Posted by: user34499 | Fri 2nd Mar 2007 22:52 | Last Reply

Christopher's post about the new Titleist balls got me thinking.

I am a long time user of the Pro V1. My brother bullied me into using them, and I am glad he did as I like the way they putt, the drop and stop seems to work and the distance I get is very consistent.

What I have never understood is what the difference is between the Pro V1 and the Pro V1x.

Can anyone enlighten me? Which do you prefer?

cheers, JD

Thanks, this is useful.

I think it can be summed up as the Pro V1 has "soft compression for outstanding feel and 'Drop-And-Stop' greenside control" whereas the Pro V1x has "softer feel and improved greenside playability"

The Pro V1 seems to be superior, why would one choose the Pro V1x?

I used a Pro V1 today for the first time and though my game is variable I liked the way it played - it was great off the tee. Of late I have been playing the Callaway Big Bertha which I think plays quite similarly. managed to keep the same ball all the way round which was a result.
