Correct Clubs for My Game & Custom Fitting

Posted by: user124316 | Fri 11th Sep 2009 10:39 | Last Reply

Morning all,

I am after some advice i am a 12 handicap and currently use Wilson Deep Red II Fat Shaft Irons, i am looking to upgrade my current irons as they are nearly 8 years old now.

So firstly can anybody recommend a quality set of Irons for my handicap for around the £400 mark?

and secondly is custom fiiting worth doing?

all advice is welcome.

Custom fitting should cost close to nothing or be worked in to a deal when buying new so if it's available you may as well take advantage...especially if you dont fit in to the "average golfer" shape size arm-length etc profile.

£400 is a decent amount to spend and if you are not fussed about having the newest ranges then many of the sets still in shops from a year ago or so should see some pretty big discounts (and if not - try and haggle...even works in chain stores). At the end of the day it's like picking clothing or cars, something will fit well, look right and work good for yourself.
