Whats the best golf mat?

Hi all,

I am somewhat of a golfing novice, and i am looking to purchase a golf mat to practice at home, i was wondering if anyone could recommend any good ones.

 I'vedone of those hession (is that the word?) door mats for chipping on the back lawn. Worked ok.

I obviously live in a different universe to you guys.

One my garden is hardly big enough to swing the neigbours cat

Two my wife would divorce me if I put a driving range mat in the garden, let alone in the house.

The First and last time I tried chipping practice in our postage stamp of a garden the ball went, as if pre-programmed by some mystic force, directly at a mirrored butterfly'y garden hanging ornamenty thing and smashed one of the mirrors. I was not popular.
