Hi Heather,

First thing, was the Junior Open an Official Qualifying Competition and run with a CSS or a SSS?

If SSS the +8 will be 0.1 added and the -2 will be a drop of 0.8.

Yes the Junior Open was a an Official Qualifying Competition and run with a CSS or a SSS?  Phoned up club but there was no one to help so should he still play off a 24 then.

I would think, Yes. If they can't work out the CSS, they can't adjust Hcps. What is your sons exact Hcp. Is it 24.0? If it was 24.4 before it will still be 24 after any reduction as it would move to 23.7 with the scores you posted.

golf club dose not have a manager at the moment a lady member dose the handy caps once a week, on 3rd August he played at Orsett Junior Open he shot his handy cap what was 25 I phoned up the man who sorts out the juniors he told Nat to play of 24 untill his handy cap could be sorted out said he should play of the lowest that he might be put down to, on Monday he was in Abridge did 36 holes shot 106 and 101 there scrach is 72 th, so told him to play of 24 just to make sureey had to play of the tees that the pros use when they use Abridge for the qulafirers so as son is only 11 and only 4ft 6in tall was told that, that was a good score for that club, as some of the single  handy capers where shooting 87  so as son shot 101 and 91 at Upminster yesterday phoned up the club but there was no one there to help if it had only been 1 comp then that would be ok but son dose not want to play at a higher handy cap that he night not be so just really want to know what is a safe handy cap to use because if he uses a higher handy cap than he is could be disqulified he has a comp tomorrow, so we really need to know tonight Thanks for your Help
