How long does it take to adjust to new clubs?
I will (hopefully) soon be upgrading from my introductory Slazenger Big Ezee's to a "proper" set of Cobra 3400 irons.
Reading Tim's post on his new friends below got me thinking - on average (and your experiences) how long did it take to get your groove back with your new babies?

Guy
How long is a piece of string? My first proper set took me about 5 or 6 rounds, but you should have seen what I was playing with before them! The new set I've got I've played 3 rounds with and they still feel strange, not bad, just very different (inconsistent). The man who built them reckons it would be 10 or so before they felt comfortable and we should then see if they needed modifying.

Note to above. The previous two posts reminded me of my youth when my brother and I used to race motorcycles. He could get on a bike, any bike, and go fast straight away. I didn't have the confidence to do that and it took me maybe 40 or 50 laps to get up to the same speed. Then we were pretty much equal. Maybe it's just my confidence that takes time to build...

They charged you how much for shafts! There's only 3 suppliers of steel shafts in the world and the most expensive of those are only about 10 each from the guy who built my clubs. I'd have a word if I were you.Andrew. Still got my Laverda triple form 1977, had it longer than I've known my wife so it stays. Difficult to carry a set of clubs on I reckon, but it never occured to me that I would need to in my youth....

Go get some clubs custom built and stop worrying about what make they are. They're all made in the same ruddy great factory in China, mine have heads that are from the same (but NOT clones) castings as Taylor Made r7 XD's, NS Pro 950GH steel shafts and chunky Wingolf grips. Under 400 the lot, including quite a few adjustments. Driver and fairway woods next for me.
