Broke 100 at last!
My 13th round and I finally broke 100!
Scored 99 at Kirtlington, Oxon. Out in 53 (ironically my best front 9 there despite playing crap) In in 46 (again my best back 9).
I was also experimenting with a new putting grip on the first 11 holes and three putted on 4 of them so swtiched back to my regulation grip after that - confidence returned and the score followed.
I am fairly happy but I'm still niggled by those shots that got away.

And that's what keeps us all coming back

Guy Always nice to break the ton for the first time. Then comes 90, then 80... Don't worry, you'll always get niggled by the ones that get away no matter what level you play at.

Well done mate, welcome to the 10%ers (im a part time member)
Next time it will be the driving or short game that niggles. When it all comes together at once, youll break 90 no worries.
Keep at it

Unfortunately Guy, you will almost certainly go over 100 again. Just don't get downhearted about it. The same thing happened to me last year, scores kept coming down 'til I shot an 86. Didn't play for a fortnight and then hit 109! However, getting pars, birdies and even an eagle is addictive and you'll keep plugging away because you know you can do it. Shot 89 last Friday on a course I'd never seen before and got par on all the par 3's except for the one I birdied.

hurrah for me, i too finally broke 100 with a 99 today, alright it was on winter greens but what a feeling and what a confidence booster, plus i took an 8 on the par 4 1st after going out of bounds, but lots of positives, only 32 putts and irons much straighter. just hope i can do it again, soon

Congrats Guy!
I've been playing cac handed for 11 years. Best round is an 84. It took me about 30 rounds to break 100. Got a 97 and it was the best feeling ever. Only thing that came close was an eagle on a 490 yd par 5 and it was the first time I had ever had an eagle putt and it went in. Best piece of advice is slow your drives down. Best of luck Dave.
