How depressing

Posted by: user24437 | Fri 19th Jan 2007 17:34 | Last Reply

Just been over the driving range, beautiful sunny afternoon with a light breeze, took some of my new irons and my driver and 5 wood. They've got grass tees as well as the plastic mats so I thought I'd have half and hour of 'real' shots off grass. First couple of PW's OK, 7 iron OK, 5 and 4 a bit iffy, and then it all went to pot. Ended up going through 120 balls and hit maybe 25% of them OK, the rest were hooked, sliced, scuffed, topped and any other miss-hit you could imagine. Sometimes I hate this bloody game.

It's that awkward situation, I can't go back to my old clubs (they just feel awful now) and I can't use my new ones. Still, when I do catch them right they don't half go. I did this a few years ago just before a comp. and I ended up getting 38 points. I've talked to the man who built my clubs and he's got a couple of mods he wants to do on the long irons, but I'll just keep plugging away. It'll be OK on the 17th, no worries.
