Concentration
With four holes to go last night, four pars would have given me an 81. Was playing great, concentration was good, was drawing the ball, chipping and putting well, everything.
It was getting really congested and another single golfer caught me up after we were both allowed to play through. Had to wait for ages so I suggested pairing up. He was very pleasant company and we chatted away. But my game went completely to pieces, finishing double bogey, bogey, triple bogey, bogey for an 88.
Would you have carried on playing on your own and kept your concentration, or done the sociable thing and risked ruining a good score?

Stu,
I would of done the same & joined up. You need to be able to retain that concentration whilst with playing partners as all of your comps will be with partners.
88 is still a good score. Perhaps you were trying to hard when you joined up & was trying not too make yourself not look a fool in front of the other guy??

Stu doesn't have to try not to make a fooll of himself - it just comes naturally!

I would have paired up too.
Golf is not meant to be played alone!

My little secret is out then eh, Stuart. That's why I always beat you - I'm steady and you're easily distracted!

I would have joined up.
Maybe, just maybe you were trying too hard to get your 81.

I do agree Stuart. When on my own, I concentrate much more on my swing. When with others it has been known to fall to bits. Still early days though

I agree with you Wayne, your handicap is artificially higher than it should be.

THE HOLE AHEAD WILL PLAY THE SAME WAY, WHATEVER SCORE YOU ARE ON THE TEE.
