"Junk" Woods
This is mixing me up as regards "Quality Woods", I have just upgraded my irons to Callaway, and they are really good and have improved my game alot. I have been spending a great deal of time on the range with my 3 and 5 woods, these are what came with my first set of clubs and bag, the whole lot was 130 and.......dont laugh they have the name: KENO on them, so each wood cant be worth more than about 10, I would think, now having had a lot of coaching on the range, using these woods I feel I really have got the hang of them, and yesterday off the Tee I drove with the 5 Wood 235yrds straight ,and against a strong wind, coming back the other way I drove again off the Tee about 245yrds with the wind. I have been thinking about upgrading these two woods but alongside other guys that have spent 120 on one wood with a good name and graphite shaft I am getting the same distance, and my coach said that its a good distance for those clubs. So I have to question just how much better are "Good Name" woods that cost 120 upwards.
Any thoughts on this guys.

Try an MD club. I have a 3 and 5 wood, super strong. 60 each. Come with lamkin crossline grips, and grafalloy prolaunch blue shafts. The same spec as ping woods, for half the price. They do a driver too, which I wouldn't mind trying.

I've just bought one Chris.
Reduced to 19.99, from 79. If its like the fairway woods, you cant go wrong. The reason its so cheap, is the latest model is out now.
89.99.

tried out the new driver today, on the range. Went like a dream. Although, it doesn't make a nice pinging noise. That said, I was still hitting the back fence

Now if you want noise get a Ben Hogan 'Big Ben CS3'. Mine nearly contravenes several health and safety regulations!

See 'In my Bag' thread. Usually carry a small pharmacy with me.
