Green Fees - How much would you pay?

Posted by: user34817 | Wed 27th May 2009 20:48 | Last Reply

I have been reading this months issue of Golf World and at the end of the article regarding the changes being planned for Valderrama it states that the course is open to visitors after 10:30 but that the green fee was £300 during the week and £320 at the weekend.  Now I understand that Valderrama is a worldwide renowned course but does that justify such a huge charge?

It seems a bit excessive to me but I was just wondering what everyone else thought.

How much have you or would you pay to play such courses as Valderrama, Augusta or Sawgrass etc?

I would obviously expect to pay a premium but £300 a round?  Don't think I could pay that.

I'd pay upto £100 a round as a special treat, and if the form picks up.

Its around £200 to spend a day at most Open Championship courses but this also includes a meal.
