Stableford Comps

Played in my very first stableford competition yesterday.  Came away with 35 points and played almost exactly to my current handicap so more than happy.  Would have been a higher score if I hadn't hit my first drive on the 18th OB then followed that with another drive in a lake.  Joy.

Didn't win it though - the winning score was 45 points.  Not having played stableford before I'm led to believe this was bandit scoring.  What's the highest stableford score you've seen?

In my last Summer League we had a winning score of 52 points.

I think 18 people played and 8 of them were over 40 points, most were around 38 with the odd couple below that, so a high scoring game for most people.

fully agree, i have the best round ever shot 80 of my 24 handicap and got cut 4 shots, havnt got 80 in nearly 3 months closest was 92 the punishment of a good round and the joy of golf.
