Wedge??

Posted by: user46706 | Mon 8th Jan 2007 22:31 | Last Reply

Im considering a couple of new additions to my bag.  Im currently hitting my pitching wedge around 110yrds and sand wedge to around 70yrds.  Both with full swings.  Im rubbish from 100yrds in, mainly due to totally misjudging the distance.   Im considering a purchase of a gap wedge which ive been told may help me hit the elusive 80-90yrds shots which are too long for my sand wedge and too short for the PW.

This has opened a whole new world of wedges to me, and since discovered you can buy wedges from 48degrees(PW) which increase in 2degree increments through sand (56) and 60degree which is the lob wedge.  A friend has a lob wedge in his bag which I tried on the last round with some great results,  especially for those little chips onto the green where you need to ball to stop dead (if youre playing over a bunker)

has anyone any opinions on the wedges?

Thanks, Tim.
