Why Did I Bother?
Our club had it's midweek medal today.
So I got up ready to take my daughter to school.
While I was sat watching the news with my morning cuppa I must have moved in the chair, or got out of the chair too fast as I found that I had a twinge in my lower back!
I could not believe it....
So I went to the golf club and I decided to try and hit a few steady shots to see how my back was.
Well I could feel my back on my swing but I was hitting the ball well so I decided to play.
Well, should I have bothered?
Shot 100, had one birdie and no pars!
So I'm putting this down to the back and not my game getting worse!
Have you ever played when you know full well that you shouldn't have bothered?

I should hve packed this game up yonks ago, but I still think that good times may be round the corner. South Winchester again today and most of the yellow tees were back with the whites, so at aprrox 6700 yards, I struggled. A couple of 8's, numerous double bogies soon added up to a 96.

Hope the back does ease enough for you to play on Sunday, David, we had an enjoyable day, the greens were like lightening and no one mastered them at all.
The excuse I have is that I was being custom fitted for a new ball, seeing as my favourite Z-balatas are now extinct.
The ball in question being a bridgestone treo-soft. It seemed OK to hit and had a nice feel on the putter but it rolls too much past the hole all the time.
I have ordered a dozen though to continue with the trials.

You can get the Top Flite Z-balata's from Asda John. They're about £8 per box. Or try E-Bay. Here's a link to what would be a lifetime supply for you!
