best 9 holes of my life today
Played Linden hall golf course today, was a bit wet in places and wind was right up - about 20mph when exposed.
Played the front 9 ok and shot a 52 with no real highlights to speak of, then on the 10th, I hit my 18" rescue off the tee to cut the corner of a 400yd par 4 and hit a lovely 7 iron right in the middle of the green, that was the start of the best 9 holes I've ever had, ended up shooting a 43 on the back 9 with the highlights a 210 yd rescue onto the green, rescue then SW to a 357 yd par 4, and the main one, a long 4 iron, round a huge tree - faded onto the green 6ft from the hole - I havent hit anything as good as that in my life!
anyway - I'm ready for the 15th now for sure!

Stephen, you do realise that you have probably had your 'Good' round for the next three months!
It's great when you play a few holes consistently well but the problem I find is that I expect to do the same on my next round, but normally it doesn't happen.
The good point here is that you have done it once so you can do it again.
Keep up the good scoring Stephen and your handicap will soon come down.

Well done Stephen, you're playing with me at the Belfry so I'm expecting more of the same.

thanks guys.
I really feel I have turned a corner now. That 4 iron shot was stupid - I jokingly said I was gonna do it, never in a milion years believing I could and it was simply picturesque.
I absolutely love the 18" rescue club - my new favourite in the bag without a doubt.
Cant wait to get back out there, this was also at a course i'm not all that familiar ith too with very strong wind.
I wi try my best to repeat it and start bringing the h/c right down.

Stephen, was the wind as strong as it was yesterday @ Moorallerton? You hit some long balls, notably on the 10th and 12th.... a drive and a 9 iron to a 500yd plus par 5, it's not bad going. Thanks again to you and Adrian for the game, we'll have to play there again when it's not force 10.

as I remember you had a good second 9 at moor allerton too. Patrick had a nice 18, And mine was mediocre 18.
