any tips/drills to keep a level shoulder turn please?

Posted by: user85262 | Sun 1st Feb 2009 19:04 | Last Reply

Ive noticed in recent weeks when watching back on video I dip by left shoulder and completely lose my height on my back swing (by a lot).  I therefore have to lift back up on the downswing to avoid hitting the ground before the ball.

Any tips/drills would be appreciated.

thanks all

John

If you know that you dip it, then tell youself not to, it really is that simple. A drill is not needed and I doubt there is one that would help.

At address your right shoulder should be lower than your left so that tells me you are starting the backswing by using a rocking motion as oppposed to turning the body and letting your left shoulder dip below that of your right.

This one's my biggest demon - a predominent right shoulder

forcing it , casting it and not sweeping cleanly

start by being concious that at address your left shoulder is slightly higher than your right and think about returning to that point at point of impact ? don't force it !!!!! sweep it !!! swing as if the ball doesn't exist (it just happens to be in the way of your swing plane) - but hey who am i to say . If I could get this one right consistently round after round I'd be knocking 5 shots off my handicap.
