Newbie

Hi All

I'm a complete beginner to the golfing world, have only played one 'real' round but absolutely loved it. Have been lurking around the site watching a few tutorials and reading a few forum posts but haven't participated up to now.

I'm about to sign up for some beginner lessons and trying to get down the local driving range every week to practice my swing. I was just wondering if anyone thinks it is worth while to get a swing analysis once I master the basics?

Ben

Welcome and good luck.

Over half of people quit in the first year but this site will help you through the difficult times

Welcome aboard Ben.

Video analysis is good if like me you find it much easier to see what the pro is trying to explain and compare it to yourself.  Be warned though, there's nothing more humbling than thinking you've hit a beauty, watching back the video and realising that you've got the kind of swing that should get you locked up!

As regards making an arse of yourself at a Golfshake event, don't worry about it; you won't be the first and you won't be the last.  Keep a look out for the high handicap comps; they're a great way to play competivie golf with no pressure and on a level playing field
