Algarve Golf 2008 (Feb)

Just thought I'd ask you members if any of you would be interested in forming a group and holding our own competition in the above country, the details below are what I have paid this year for Feb 2007:

7 nights B&B in 4* Hotel on the beach in Alvor (Dom Joao ii) 7 rounds of golf over three courses (Gramacho, Pinta, Silves the last one is a new one this year) 9 seater Mini-Bus (6 of us, so will carry all golf bags and luggage) Basic cost was �259:00 then add the flights, we got Monarch from Manchester at �98:00 (obviously your's may differ due to geographical location) plus �20 Golf club Carriage. so the total cost for the week is �379:00 for a week of Golf overdose lol. 2007 will be our third year and I cannot rate the courses (apart from the Silves yet) highly enough. you can get some info from www.pestanagolf.com or the best one to access is www.algarvegolf.net this one has virtual panoramic webcams for Tee/Fairways and Greens including vocal Pro tips, but this website is currently being updated so you may need to wait a bit. To give you a price comparison Bill Goff are offering the same time and hotel but only 3 rounds of golf and one evening dinner thrown in for �399 then you have to add flights and club carriage a total of �517:00 and 4 rounds less !!! This sounds like a good idea.

Have you thought about creating a public GST competition so that it gets advertised on the home page under the forthcoming public events that others can join ?

This is a fairly new feature, yet to be promoted and due some tweaks and enhancements over the next few months.

Let me know how you get on with this. There is talk of looking to do a 2/3 day GST event but not sure I am ready to organise an overseas trip yet.

Is it a case of booking the lot with Golf Amigos and then join the society whilst there or are you considering booking everything if you can get the numbers before a certain date ?

well im in. Would have loved to go in Feb 07 but with another year to save up i cant miss out. Come on lads get signed up
