Bridgestone B330 Golf Balls
I've added the Bridgestone B330 to the list of golf balls I'm happy to play with.
Having sorted through my large collection of golf balls I came across one of these golf balls. So I decided to give it a try as I've heard good things about these golf balls on this forum.
So my list of golf balls that I like to play with is now
Titleist, Calloway, Nike, Srixon and Bridgestone

There's a shame Russ I was hoping they were one you disliked and when you found a few of them could have passed them on to me...........................Trust me to help educate you all.

I just don't fancy playing with a tyre.

Dave, I must have found hundreds of golf balls over the last year.
When I sorted out my 'Collection!' I only had one Bridgestone B330 ball.
So either the people who play with them are good players and don't lose that many, or people haven't realised what a good ball they are, who knows!

This is what i am currently using. Best ball i have used.
I got 3 for a quid from a bloke selling assorted lake balls yesterday.

All part of the learning curve, Wayne, in the end it sinks in and then they settle on one ball that they like.
My old Pro at Frinton used to play the rock hard Top Flite XL and when I asked him why, he said that he needed the length and after a short while he lsoon earned how to play it around the green.

Under normal circumstances I will use brand new one's.
Just bought these for practice as 3 for a quid is a good price i think.
Would that make a significant difference to distance etc?

Stephen, you are quite at liberty to play with any ball you wish, what Wayne and I are saying is, that it helps tremendously if one plays the same ball all of the time, because one learns how far it goes with each club as well as knowing how it performs in shots to the green, not forgetting the feel when putting.
I play with very cheap ball but I know all of its characteristics having used it for many years.

What do you guys think about using these Pearl/Mint grade lake balls for use in the winter ? Difficult to justify using brand new Bridgestones in winter conditions at £ 30 dozen when the lake balls can be purchased for £ 10 doz

I agree Martin, why indeed use brand new balls in the winter when the lake balls are that cheap. The ones I use are cheaper than that and I use them all year round.

I know the balls you use John the TF Z-Balata. Used to use them myself many moons ago, but like most people go with the flow when new balls come out. Try them all.
Found a ball I like now in the bridgestone will stay in my bag.

Probably I would be looking to play a better ball if I were a player of your standard, Martin.
Dave L plays the bridgestone, so it must be a good ball, although when he hit one of mine at Wychwood it went the same distance as his bridgestone, much to his disgust I'm sure, although he did not say anything.

does dave use the b330s or normal?
Reply : Fri 16th Jan 2009 12:51
Not sure about dave Stephen, but I use the B330s because it is the softer of the two balls. I prefer it around the greens, but not noticed a sacrifice in distance by not using the harder B330.

thats what i was wondering.
I use the B330s and it seems fine, but if the normal 330 is just as comfortable, i might as well take advantage of the extra distance.

How much extra distance do you need, Stephen. You already hit it too far.

I have tamed my swing right down now though john. Plus i have lost distance with my new driver in place of more consistency.
Reply : Fri 16th Jan 2009 15:54
You are lucky, Stephen, I have lost both distance and accuracy.

Been mostly playing the B330s for the last 3yrs along side some srixon urz's , AD333's and the prov1x sometimes. I play new balls all year my worn out ones end up in my practice ball bag.
I was surprised by the results after hitting one of Johns Balata. From the tee I hit both balls with a 3 iron a tad over 200 yrds side by side, then hit both to the green with a 7 iron no difference in length and feel was fine. I did not chip or putt the balata so not sure how that would have felt .
At the moment I'm using the new Bridgestone RX seems as good as the B's

I wouldn't have minded you pointing out that your thee iron was past my driver, David.
