Computer For Scores?

Posted by: user20126 [FORUM MODERATOR] | Wed 3rd Dec 2008 22:47 | Last Reply

Does your golf club have a computer set up so that you enter your scores after you have finished your round?

I've been to a few golf clubs that do this, but my club does not.

If your club has a computer can you see a list of scores from other people, or is it just to input your scores?

Russ,

My club has a computer / touch screen to enter your scores from the comps. You can check to see what the leaderboard is but that's about it.

John.

Russell, as you know I am a member at a Crown Golf Club and we did have a computer for this purpose but I believe that it was not well received and we now place our cards in the old box.

I always assumed that the clubs who had a PC for people to input their scores would still have to hand in a correctly completed scorecard.

You will always get a few people who don't want to keep up with technology, but in the end I think it would be a useful tool.

I didn't know about the central database coming in, now that could be interesting.

same here, you still have to submit your cards for authentication.

Graham,

Has anyone suggested using this data to amend the SSS for courses. It should be possible to identify from players playing away in reasonable numbers whether a course has an SSS that is high or low.
