With your handicap, Peter, you should know what you need.

Peter,
I have a few friends around your handicap & they either play with the Taylormade Burner or the Ping G10 & they hit them milesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

there is not much between any of the current drivers, the manufacturers are all chasing the same (hi launch) you need to try out various models. The weight/ balance of one of them will suit you more but you need to test a few. New 2009 models are starting to appear now ... wait a few weeks and there could be more choice.
American Golf will have the most choices available.

you need to get your swing speed measured,a lot of people make the mistake of going for to small loft.anyone with a swingspeed of 85mph or less should be looking at least 12 degrees..at least...believe it or not this will give you more distance.bought a hibore with 12 degrees after using a 10.5 degree, and instantly added 30 yards on my drives, and they was straight all the time...

I would suggest getting down to one of the golf superstores and having your swing checked with them, then try as many drivers as you can until you find the right one for you.
