handicaps- three ball matchplay
Can anyone help with the following :
How are handicaps allocated when three golfers
are playing each other at matchplay. Example : Ron is handicap 14 , Alan off 17, Neil off 19 wish to play
individually against each other using matchplay ( holes) format. Do we 3/4 the difference between handicaps so that Ron gets no strokes from Alan and Neil , but Neil gets 3/4 of 5 = 4 from Ron and 3/4 of 2 = 2 from Alan with Alan getting 3/4 of 3 = 2 from Ron but ( of course) nothing from Neil. If not please explain. Also if the above is correct what is the index of the holes Alan and Neil get strokes on. We assume Alan gets strokes on stroke index holes 1 and 2 from Ron and Neil gets stroke index holes 1,2, 3 and 4 from Ron. But what does Neil get from Alan stroke index holes 1 and 2 or stroke index holes 3 and 4 Hope this makes sense and look forward to hearing from you regards Alan King ( member Alan1409)

your lowestest handicaper would play off scrach the others would reduce to the diffrence
15 - 0 shots
17 - 2 shots on sratch player stroke index 1/2
19 - 4 shots on scratch player index 1/2/3/4 and 2 shots on 17 handicapper indexs 1/2
if you had a 28 handiccapper he would get 28-15= 13 shots on stroke indexs 1 to 13
