Driver trouble....

Posted by: user119570 | Wed 24th Sep 2008 19:33 | Last Reply

i can not get my driver or 3 wood to go straight i always hook it to the right i have slowed my back swing right down and tried everything.

i had a lesson on sat with my irons and i was not swinging all that right, the face of the club was not facing up but i have corrected that now and the ball goes straight, i do all the same with my driver apart from my feet and it still will not go straight.

You are a left hander then, Steve.

If your swing is OK, it could be the setup.

I used to hit all woods badly to the right, and it turns out I had my hands in front the ball on setup, and the ball too far back in the stance. This meant the clubhead would hardly ever be straight on contact and almost everything went VERY right.
