when you look at the par on a hole and under it it says si5 or whatever what dus it mean

Alex,Its classed as the the 5th hardest hole on that course, you will notice they are graded from 1-18. As your hcp is 28 you get you receive 2 extra shots from Si 1- 10 and 1 extra from 11-18 totaling 28 your hcp, so if your course is a par 72 and you shoot 100 that is level par for your hcp.Hope that helps.
