why is our sport not a olympic sport?

maybe its because i'm new to the game! but i cannot understand why our "great sport" which brings in more money than 90% of the olympic sports put together, is not an olympic sport! it could be played over a four-day match play after qualifiers, or stroke-play,even for amatuers! im sure the big manufactures of our sport would love to market an olympic champion! so why are we not represented! if bmx, and mountain biking are represented then it as nothing to do with accent history!

Those discussions have been underway for some time now and hopefully within the next two Olympics golf will be there as well.
