Darren, Me and the guys are only teasing ,I checked out your scores and it's nice to see that you regularly play in your club comps and your scores reflect your previous hcp . Great round fella i can see why your excited ,the trick now is to remember that round and draw confidence from it. I'm sure while your adjust to your new hcp you will play to it and better it.
What type of course is Faversham?

In all seriousness Darren, I'm really pleased for you. The fact that you did it in the medal makes it even better and despite some undoubted grumblings (and ribbing!) no-one will be able to argue that you weren't playing off your real handicap. Problem is you know you can do it now and every round from now on you will be wondering what the hell you are doing wrong!
Was watching something on Setanta Golf yesterday about the biggest open amateur comp in the world. 4,000 players play four different courses out of a pool of 32 over four days. They have a team of people whose only job is to analyse scores and review anyone who is "consistently playing well within ther handicap". They adjust handicaps after day 3 and apply then restrospectivly to the previous rounds. Anyone who is considered to be 'sandbagging' is interviewed and either made ineligable for prizes or asked politly to withdraw. They lose between 10 and 15% of the players every year after exposing them as cheats. Some of the excuses (and reactions) were quality!
