My Handicap

Played my course as a non - member until March this year when I joined for real.
Finally (because of preferred lies) I managed to stick 3 cards in the box and found out today my club handicap is 20
Now, I have manually adjusted my GS handicap from 18.4 to 20 so the two go hand in hand so to speak.
Would this be in the spirit of our GS community - not wanting to nick shots for future GM comps I can get to but just wanted to monitor one handicap..?

I also make my GS Handicap reflect my current club handicap. So qualifying events that have a handicap adjustment at my club are recorded as such on GS. Any non -qualifying or other rounds are just entered without handicap adjustment.
