Club Rules

Coming from another thread which seems to be branching away from the original point - I thought it would be a good topic for discussion.

Are there any golfers out there who's clubs stipulate seemingly daft rules such as socks over knees or members-only beer pumps? Or are there golfers on here who think these rules are part of the tradition of golf and should be kept alive?

I knew when joining my club what rules & regs there were.

Some of them 'traditional' which I accepted & joined. I don't think I have the right to moan about them now unless members are asked for opinions etc.

There was one really stupid rule about not being able to wear jeans & trainers on the course or in the clubhouse!!!
