Right im confused about bounce,  for a 54 55 degree played mainly from the fairway and rough what is a good bounce?

Also for a 58 or 60 lob wedge whats a good bounce id have thought this would have been more used for bunker shot but so high bounce, but i read that these need a low bounce?? so confused

This link will explain it all to you, Matt, myself I swing rather shallow so don't like much bounce.

Matt.  The chrome finish is longer lasting and doesn't corode (unless you break through the finish with a stone or stuff), the oil can is basically carbon steel with an oxidised oil coating which will wear off and go rusty.  As the spin milled finish is only applied to the striking face (nothing to do with the grooves in the face), in theory the oil can will outperform the chrome when it is new as the plating process smooths the edges of the machining marks giving less grip. However, as the club face wears the chrome finish will wear less and perform more consistently over time whereas the oil can will eventually completely smooth out.  Keeping either type clean is obviously important, the rubbish that fills the grooves removes the bite, but all of them will degrade from the very first time you use them.

Technically the Nickel or Gunmetal should be the best compromise.  They will have a softer, thinner sintered spray coating so they won't rust as much but still retain the rough surface finish longer than the oil can.  The chrome is much thicker (because it's probably coppered, nickeled and then chrome plated), but we are talking at micron level here.

Personally I'd go with the MD Norman Drew....
