Easter Games!!!!
I'm playing at Charnock Richard on Saturday with Mark Sobey & some dodgy hacker called Alps Patel, who no doubt is going to get slaughtered.
Anyone else playing this weekend???

Due out Saturday bright and early, looking forward to it even though the forecast is 2 degrees with hail and snow showers!!!! Any poor shots will OBVIOUSLY be totally down to the weather ;-)

Tomorrow is my Club's round of the Douglas Bader Trophy - a mixed greensomes stableford, which my partner and I won last year. Winners go through to the area final in Ely (there are others area finals around the Country), and the winners of each of the area finals go to Portugal later in the year.
I don't quite know what to expect in the way of weather, but the ladies won't like playing unless it's dry! They called off their medal last Sunday because it was wet!
I get the impression that any pair who completes the full 18 holes will probably be the winners.

Who finally made a full round today then. I managed a 3&1 win in my matchplay after coming back from 4down. Weather was probably the worst ive ever played in so wasnt hugely annoyed by my 110 effort. Somehow and dont ask me how Si managed an 83 including a back nine 0f 37, sickening

I managed a full round with my dad and his usual partner. It was damn chilly with a hurricane blowing down, up and across many fairways and the old sleet shower but otherwise was fine. The course was okay - winter tee mats but all greens open. Fairways soft underfoot in places but for a course that shuts often due to soggy conditions it was pretty good.
I managed a 101 for 34 points which I was more than happy with and it was enough to beat my partners on stableford. I was particularly pleased with my birdie 2 on the 215yd par 3 hole 9 for 4 points. Excellent 3 wood drive onto the green followed by 12' putt. Very satisfying. Overall driving was good. Short game was okay. Putting was poor. Overall many positives to take away from the round which is all that matters. hdcp stayed put too!

I got to the course at 8.00 this morning to find it closed and covered in snow, so our Douglas Bader Mixed Greensomes comp was cancelled and will have to be re-arranged. Thank goodness I've just booked a week golfing in Portugal for mid-April!
